Can anyone tell me what “normal” thread sizes for LP outlets on a first stage regulator are?

What are normal sizes for secondary “octo” hose fittings that connect to the first stage?

I’ve got a Dacor first stage and am trying to replace the octo with a new one, however, the port in the first stage is too small for the hose fitting on the octo. I need an adapter, but don’t know what size to get. My octo hose fitting is too big for the first stage hole.

Could it be a 7/16 fitting in the first stage and a 3/8 fitting on the octo hose??

Any help would be appreciated,

Randy

As far as I know, there are only three common thread sizes on most regs, 2 sizes LP and 2 sizes HP. Older first stages sometimes had HP ports that were the same size as the LP; what they commonly call a 3/8 port so care was needed that you did not inadvertantly screw a LP hose into this port or it would burst. Now is seems that everyone uses a somewhat larger size for HP that is not encountered in LP fittings. What it sounds like you need is an adapter to take your more modern dacor hose , which has a 1/2 x 20 thread down to a 3/8 thread on the firtst stage body. Good luck
