Feel free to give it a try but I'm pretty sure it will not be doable; button placement and physical dimensions are juuuust different enough to make this a no-go.

I understand I misread your reply.

How about looking for EM5-III? I believe there are still housing in the market. AOI do make one.
And the physical of the camera is exact same as OM System OM-5 - so you're in a "future proof" for a while.
I'm using Ikelite housing for EM5-III.

It looks like EM5-iii is about 2/3 the cost of a used OM1. The EM5-III also includes the PDAF focus. It would mean starting from scratch for ports, and probably end up heavier. I could also look at the ikelite housing, that still seems to be available. I'd have to work out the overall change in weight for housing+port+body; the housing itself is about 1lb heavier than the AOI OM1 housing;

You would not need to start from scratch with your ports; AOI makes an OM-D to PEN adapter. You could continue to use your PEN ports and have the option of using OM-D ports for lenses that require it.

Well, I talked my self into a used OM-1. About 1000USD with a 90 day warranty from a henrys.com (a Canadian dealer, so I avoid some border hassles). Now on the lookout for a good deal on a UH-OM1 (II). Thanks for all the ideas here, there are lots of different tradeoffs between performance, cost and travel-ability.

I’ve been getting e-mails about the OM-1s being on sale. You can get a new OM-1 body for $1099.00 USD right now, direct from Olympus. Might check around and see what you can find before dropping the same price on a used one.

Wow, that's quite a good deal on a new OM-1. Alas, the order is in and the camera shipped, probably too late to change my mind. I can see what they say.
