I didn't find a discussion. Forgive me if I missed it. What are the options and recommendations, if any, to replace the mouthpiece on an Atomic regulator? I just wore out the original one.

The Apeks Comfobite Mouthpiece.
The only Apeks gear I own.
Do a search.

Edit: Not the only Apeks gear , just remembered, RK3 fins [I am trying to sell] and a Apeks spool.

I think it was originally (and still is made by Aqualung). I have 12 spares at home. Have that mouthpiece on 6 sets myself.

I have the AL/Apeks Comfobite also on several sets. When I was a child, long story I will spare you, but my front teeth got knocked out. I have implants. I enjoy that the force is applied to upper palate rather than prying on my teeth. I have come to be equally okay with the newer, longer bite Scubapro mouthpiece. In the case of either make sure to get the genuine article as some of the reproductions are softer material and just do not fit and work the same.

Wow. Lots of love for the comfo-byte. Me, I never quite felt it to be as comfortable, but YMMV. I love the genuine Atomic mouthpiece, myself. It has a lower ridge next to my gums and I've replaced every Scubapro mouthpiece, which all seem to chafe.
But to answer the OP, replacement Atomic OEM mouthpieces are available through any dive shop that carries Atomic, at $12-15, or on Amazon.
Generic knockoffs (that don't have the restricted mouthpiece opening that controls Venturi) are all over the place at $4-8.
Best way to check is to look at the size of the mouthpiece opening next to your teeth. The knockoffs all seem to be much larger holes, and very soft silicone that tears more easily.

Personally, I prefer a long bite silicone mouthpiece. I use these on my 2nd stage regs and my CCR BOV which is much heavier (out of water). I find these reduce the jaw fatigue as you get a larger bite surface area to hold the regulator. Only $3 on DiveGearExpress.

They also sell similar Mares mouthpieces and several type of moldable ones.

I love the Apeks comfobite on my XTX50, however not all 2nd stage mouthpiece openings have the same dimensions - my Scubapro regs have a much smaller major axis of the ellipse where you attach the mouthpiece than the XTX50. So question is - Is there such a thing as a universal mouthpiece?

The long bite on my Scubapro s600 certainly seems to balance and hold the weight of the 2nd stage when tested out of water quiet more effortlessly than the shorter versions…
