Here are 2 that Christi took with my camera... it was really cool to see her slowly swim up so close to the turtle. If it were me, it would have bolted long before I got close.

That was a great dive Jeff! Thansk for sharing those photos...I really like the close-up, but I WAY overexposed the 2nd one...AND, I broke the cardinal rule in photography...never shoot DOWN at a subject ;) I'll have my new strobe JUST before you guys leave...so maybe I can take some more shots with yours while you're here :)

Rob...I WISH I could...most of the time when I'm in the water I'm with students or leading the dive...or acting as a private guide...so I can't take my camera along in those instances. However, I have vowed to myself that I will get in the water more with my camera...as long as there is room on the boat for me ;) I've got to get over my learning curve with the digital shooting!

By the way Jeff and Mia...and others diving with us between now and Sept. 7th...we have a very special guest DM/Instructor on the island...I just picked him up at the ferry!

RAUL is here visiting and will be leading some trips...and even working with a few students while he's here! I can't wait to get in the water with him!

Well, it would have been pretty tough getting below him (unless you had a shovel)... I may have a better "above the" Turtle pic here somewhere, you took about 5 or 6 and i didn't put them all up in my gallery. I hope we can get down that way again on this trip. I know you said Maracaibo looked good, how did Chun Cha Cab (sp?) fare during (and after) the storm?

If that means you're diving with us you can take all the pics you want! I need to get a good one of Mia and me underwater anyway!

Awesome! Glad we'll be there at the same time! Haven't seen him since may '04. Looking forward to seeing ALL of you!

Chun Chacab looks great too. We'll get you down there and I will make sure to get in some dives with y'all for sure.

What strobe do you have on your camera???

I just got the Inon 2000 for the last time we were there. It was in the $500 range

Those shots of the turtle are awesome. I will be going to Coz next year and I am praying I see a turtle like that. Christi, I understand why you don't take more pics since you are constantly having to lead dives or train new divers. Do you ever just dive for recreation any more? If so perfect time for some pics ;) Anyways, thanks for sharing what ya do have.

Robb...I wish even that was the case...the truth is that I spend more time in the office than in the water these days...I'm working on a solution for that too though :)

Oh, are you looking for an office manager? I work cheap!

The curse of being the boss!!! Being a successful business is a double edged sword sometimes. You start a business because you want to do something you love and then when it takes off you spend more time "running" the business than "doing" the business.

Keep working on that solution girl!!! You need to make time for yourself!!!!! :D
