Removing Aquaseal?

I saw a small thread about this before, but
didn't like the answers... so I'm asking again

Any suggestions on getting excess aquaseal
off of a drysuit ( mobby's armorshell tri-lam )???

I am picking and scraping but it's slow as molasses!!

Any and all help/advice would be greatly, greatly
appreciated!

Try some 150 grit sandpaper on a block of wood, stop just before you start cutting into the material. I usually use 60 grit but that can get a little hairy. Finish off with a black magic marker.
Any solvents you might use to cut the AquaSeal may wind up delaminating your suit material, so don't even think of going that route.
Next time use masking tape, mask the area off.

Arghhh, UP you got me to fess up!

Normally I would care about a little aquaseal, but
I had a bad idea and wanted to keep a pocket
from a drysuit that I'll be selling.

So I tried peeling it off. Bad bad bad idea.

I now have a large 4 x 8 place with a mix of neoprene
and aquaseal ( it was a dui pocket with
the neoprene backing ) that looks like hell. I'm
even thinking of putting the pocket back on
so I can sell the suit.

Did I mention it was a bad idea???

Isn't continued head banging into a wall after
a stupid move very manly??!!!!

Try this.

M.E.K. will remove the aquaseal. You can get it at the local paint store. Be very careful with it. Use only in a very well ventilated location and don't breath it long.
Watch where you let it touch it will attack the laminated materials as well.
I normally apply it with a Q-Tip and let it soften for a couple of minutes. the excess will wipe off without a lot of effort.
GO SLOW!!!

I was just about to reattach the pocket, but
the MEK thing sounds interesting.

I'll give it a shot probably on monday and let
ya'll know. gotta dive ya know.

Aquamaniac, I think the greedy award should
go to DUI. Have you seen the price of their
pockets!

Is there a good 'neutralizer' for the MEK stuff
to apply after using?
