Dive boat labeled my regulator with duct tape. Was used for a 10 day liveaboard and when I removed there is nasty duct tape residue. Internet says "Goo Gone" and "Goof Off" adhesive removers are a no no for rubber hoses. Any suggestions? Was a BRAND NEW hose.

Try rubbing peanut butter into the adhesive residue and let it sit for a day or so, then use hot water and dishsoap.

You can also try gently heating the residue with a hair dryer and then use a scrubby to scrape the softned residue away.

I would try a combination of gentle heat followed by the peanut butter while the residue is still warm.

Citrus oil or WD40 … ???

I use citrus oil to remove the gummy residue from labels on bottles.

WD40 also works but is not “edible,” so I only use it on tools etc.

I personally would just Ignore it and dive it.

PS.....Right after a dive to pressure, I think the duct tape residue will probably just rub off with your thumb. If not, then I'd continue to ignore it and dive it.

adding strawberries jam will speed up the process.

I throw my vote for WD40 too. It'll remove it pretty fast. Then just wash the hose in soap and water.
