Mice also seem to love silicon sealing materials. We have seen inhale diaphragms eaten ( gone...nothing left!) as well as mask skirts when servicing gear after winter storage!

Are you sure it is eaten and not some sort of chemical reaction?

(the neck seal of my drysuit just mysteriously decayed two months ago. No idea why.)

Well I was going to chime in that "wet" or "flood" could be subjective as just a little bit of water inverted can feel like a lot of water to some persons.

But then I saw the "solved" photos, wow, and as others pointed out bad service.

Also a reminder to be vigilant and check your own gear.

Side story, recently pulled out a old reg from the shed that I mainly use to fill car tires and rafts (off the BC lp hose with inflator attachment)... was cleaning it up and before I did a breath test I thought I better open the second stage... to my dismay I found roach remnants... disinfected that bad boy, needless to say its getting better TLC treatment now.

Even when I get my stuff back from service I still go through it myself afterwards.

Another side story, picked up gear, went home, put on tank, free flow..... next day drive back.... Next year picked up gear and asked to test on a tank of air before I left, shop not at all minds letting me grab a test to check.

Im a nut when it comes to my gear, before I dive I go through it all especially if its been awhile and as mentioned immediately back from service, funny if I have been recently diving I get more complacent.

Hmm almost wish I hadn't read this thread! Now it's going to be in the back of my mind that there might be a roach in there every time I fire up a regulator. Ugh.

Heck, just spray it down good with Raid before you store it.

(just joking, don't do that)
