.. Maybe one of you divers knows a supplier that has a variety of sizes, so we can get an exact fit.

Thanks / Stu.

Certainly, there are lots of places. Here is a good one:

TECHDIVINGLIMITED.COM

"The standard hose is just not the right hose for your application. Regardless of how well we do our research on “standard hose lengths” someone always needs a hose of a different length or color. At Tech Diving Limited we offer high quality low and high pressure hoses to fit most every need. With over 32 different hose lengths in stock plus custom lengths to order our selection is the largest in the industry. "

How long is the standard regulator hose? I tried on all my gear this weekend and my reg hose seemed way too long. I tried everything on without a tank, but pulled the 1st stage back a little to where it would normally sit on the tank. It's a simple fix for an LDS, but I'm just wondering what the average is? Perhaps I should get a tank and try things out that way, but I'd like some numbers first. Thanks in advance for your help!
Mine is 31 ½’ factory installed (Atomic) and seems too long when in place, has plenty bowing from tank to me. Hasn’t been an issue diving, never notice anyway. They aren’t supposed to be snug, nor do you want any tight bends. Remember to recover it you are doing an arm sweep and I wouldn’t want mine any shorter.

The standard primary hose is 22 to 26 inches. The standard octopus hose is 36 to 40 inches. Some strange people are confused and use hoses anywhere from five to as much as eight feet long.

There are lots of opinions but the only one that counts for your gear is yours.

That sort of thinking is what's wrong with the world.

Some opinions have more merit than others. Some are based on facts and reason, and far too many others are based on emotional whim. When it comes to diving, a potentially life threatening activity, there is one optimal solution. We may not know what it is, and we may debate endlessly about who is closest to it, and by that process triangulate in on it, without ever reaching it, but it does exist, and to deny it or disdain efforts to get closer to it is the height of human folly.

Tevis Verett on this board also sells hoses very inexpensively. Do a search on "Hose Pimp"
