Regulator Compatibility

Hi there,

I won't bore everyone with the full set up but I would like to know about cross compatibility between 1st and second stages. I run an Aqualung Legend Elite Regulator set and i'm going to be setting up a slung pony for an AAS which will obviously require another 1st stage. Unfortunately I can't get hold of an Aqualung Legend 1st stage on it's own so I was going to get an Apeks DST 1st stage.

Can anyone tell me if these would work ok together? Anything to consider?

As there on separate cylinders it doesn’t matter. I run a Sherwood on my main cylinder and ScubaPro on the pony. Also have an Aqualung 2nd stage on the main.

Yes, they should work well together. IP [intermediate pressure] is your thing to consider, just about all second stages will work within the IP range you can set your first stage for; one thing, do not mix a Poseidon second stage with another brand of second stage on the same first stage, as Poseidons operate at a lower IP than others [+/- 120 to 125 PSI vs. +/- 130 to 135 PSI].

I've been using Aqualung 2nd stage regulators on Apeks XTX 1st stage for over 10 years.
Diving in lake, underwater, sea … Up to 120m (400 feet)
No problems whatsoever.
Intermediate pressures are compatible.
