I've seen quite a few "Regulator Bags" that are very thin, are these intended to have to breakdown your reg's in order to get them to fit?

I got a free "reg bag" with a package I ordered but it's pretty tough to fit the first stage in the bag without it buldging oddly out the side with out detaching all the hoses.

How do the manufacturers expect you to travel with this?

lay your 1st stage in the towards one corner and take your hoses and make a loop around the bag placing the 2nd stagewhere in ends up do the same for your octo and bc hose ... it all fits in there nice and neat... atleast it does on my 2 reg bags:D

Given the airline weight restrictions, everything I pack has to do double duty. I use a pair of socks to protect my console, and pack the regs carefully in my carry-on to save some weight in my checked bag.

The first and second stages don't get the same protection they might in a reg bag, but then again I can't wear a reg bag on my feet.

we put our reg bags in our carry on. I would rather dive with our main life support than a rented unit.

It fits easily in a dive bag.. Maybe you have a larger first stage than most?

Thats what she said:D

its the length of the hose that matters the most.... :P

One of my favorite bags for carrying regulators is the Akona Camera Plus Bag part # AKB957. It is larger than most dedicated reg bags and has a nice double-zipper flap that opens wide to easily slide your regs in and out. It works well for carrying two regs also.
It retails for about the same price or less than the reg bags and has much more room (924 cu in).
It is designed to protect cameras and adapts well for regs. and it's an Akona.

I put reg, computer, bc, camera, laptop, mask, day's clothes, bathing suit, heavy flashlight, skin, hard sole booties, and whatever else I can squeeze in my carryon. I have been known to bungee a fair of fins onto the back of it. Then I pretend it weighs 10lbs, and pull it with one finger!

I have had luggage delayed 5 days, and I want all the esssentials with me.

:D hahaha when me and the wifey were coming back from ST. Thomas on the honey moon, I had my carryone packed with crap that she bought, the only way I was bringing my fins back home were to bungie them to the back side of the pack ha, worked though
