This is ridiculous. I can't believe I've just spent the last 20 or so minutes reading through this dribble. Bringing nationality into it, really? THAT is childish. We're all divers here, we all want to have a good time and enjoy the sea world. What does it matter if your American, British, or French. For christs sake, you all just made giant fools of yourselves. What does it matter if the guy wears gloves. As long as he doesn't touch things then it's fine. Disregarding laws is obviously a serious thing, but theres a time where you have to make a judgment call. It's gloves, get over it.
It's illegal in my state to carry spring assisted knives, in other words switch blades that release with the touch of a button, because the theory is that people that would use knives to harm others would rather carry switch blades than fixed blades. Here's the thing, even if i couldn't stab you with a switch blade it wouldn't stop me from doing so with an average kitchen blade. Thats why this glove argument is ludicrous. People are gonna touch things with or without gloves. If you really want to protect the marine environment then don't go diving.
To the people in this thread that blatantly insulted others based on their nationality, I'm going to find some way to report you. I come to this site to immerse myself in a FRIENDLY community of like minded people, who all love to dive. What I've found in this post is close minded, ignorant, jingoistic, insulting, and childish fools, who don't deserve the rite to post on this board.
