Longstocking:
I don't plan on shopping around our area then buying online. It's more about renting in our area at the moment... then buying 6 months to a year from now ( as buying isn't an option quite yet) . I just wanted to know what I should "try" and rent.... so I will know what to buy. Is this considered bad form? I would think it isn't... but I'm new. I guess it's a form of shopping.... but I'm also paying them to rent the dang thing lol.

Atomic is probably the easist as I have 2 stores REALLY close to me that sell them... but scuba pro as well. Oceanic... probably just as easy.

What Oceanic would be a good model to try?

Do not try the Zeta. It was a lot of trouble for my wife.

I haven't heard anyone mention the Aqualung New Mistral for deep, cold water diving. It is a double hose regulator, so it will not be affected by the cold (prtected first stage and dry second stage). It will also breath dry, as two hose regulators are always drier than single hose regulators. But, it is expensive, and it is a two hose regulator.

If you go with the Poseidons, either xtreme or odin, you will not be dissapointed. There is no better cold water reg, in my opinion. the extreme has a built in cold water cap, the odin requires you to buy an add on and fill it with alcohol. They breathe excellent and are made for the cold water. The draw back is they are costly to have serviced. Stay away from scuba pro, also known as scuba flow in cold water. Cheers.
