Have any of you dived the Zeagle DS Five or the Envoy regulator? Would these regulators work for a technical diver. Each has 5 low pressure ports and 2 high pressure ports, and a small first stage, that should allow for good hose configuration. They seem to breath very well and are not as expensive as some others. The DS Five is environmentally sealed The Envoy is not. Both are balanced.

Firstly i think that you are talking about the DSIV and the swivel turret only has four LP ports. I have not dove them personally but they are built the same as Apeks regs. They are supposed to be rock solid and have an excellent warranty behind them. some people find that the apeks are a little less expensive and opt for them instead. But to answer your question, yes. alot of people use apeks for their tech riggin so zeagle is pretty much the same as the older TX series with a different HP seat and sticker on the face..

A few years ago Zeagle had the chance to purchase Apeks but did not and Aqualung jumped on the opportunity. Dennis the owner of Zeagle decided to make their own reg. Yes it is very much a copy of Apeks with some minor changes. The Envoy and Envoy Delux regs have shown very good performance for a reg in their price range Each has 5 lp ports and two hp ports good for hose routes. The DS-4 is similar to the envoy except that it has a environmental seal. Depending whether you are looking at their sales brochure or their retail price guide the DS4 and Ds5 have the same part number. In Any case these regs do not have a swivel turret. The Zx 50 has the swivel. Zeagle is currently upgrading their flathead and may add additional lp ports to the body. The complete line of Zeagle regs have faired very well in comparable testing to other regs. Zeagle has their own test bench and will test their products against their competitors. It would be a good tech reg. Zeagle still provides parts for their old Apeks regs. The warranty is top notch
