I currently have a small OMS reel and am pretty happy with it. I am looking for a larger primary reel and am most likely considering another OMS. Can anyone suggest another brand and why?
Thanks

I recently bought a Manta Sr. ITs a damn nice reel...well constructed, won't overspin due to the tension and the indents. The downside is that its god awful expensive. I bought mine used for $75. A LDS has one on the wall for $190!!

I have and use a Dive-Rite primary. There's nothing special about it to recommend it over any other, but I can say "It works for me."

I have the Halcyon Pathfinder 400. I've only played with reels on the surface but the design seems very nice to me and it's much harder to foul up on land.. I imagine that carries underwater as well. Very nice reel.

Another vote for dive rite reels. I have and use a primary and a safety reel from them. Simple design, but effective and zero complaints here.

I have a Manta Jr and a Manta Sr. Best reel I've used. I have used others and switched over to Manta mainly for the construction, quality and it's features. I have yet to tangle it. On my other reels I had a cracked spool and broken knob. Give them a look, good luck
