the reef degradation has little to do with too much diving and a lot to do with short sighted construction projects, poor sewage treatment, golf course fertilizing/herbicide and the rampant deforestation/illegal burning for shanty town farming that's occurring on the island.
don't hold your breathe for this problem to be corrected anytime soon on roatan.
