Reef Divers Dives into Grand Cayman’s Cobalt Coast Resort and Suites to Give Guests One-of-a-Kind “Valet Diving” Experience

Reef Divers to Become On-Site Dive Operator for Grand Cayman’s All-Inclusive Resort Diving Oasis

Reef Divers is proud to become the official on-site dive operator, starting December 1, 2015, for Grand Cayman’s premier all-inclusive diving resort, Cobalt Coast Resort and Suites. This boutique diving resort was the first to introduce the true “suite” experience on Grand Cayman. Reef Divers is famed for its one-of-a-kind “valet diving” service. Together, guests will experience the very best of Grand Cayman for an unforgettable dive vacation.

Reef Divers is a team of PADI and SSI certified professionals dedicated to ensuring the safety of divers and protecting the environment, while providing unrivaled diving adventures and exclusive concierge service for more than 25 years. They offer guided-diving boat trips, snorkeling excursions, complete PADI and SSI instructional programs, Nitrox-enriched air, and dive equipment to all levels of divers throughout the Cayman Islands: Cayman Brac, Little Cayman, and now Grand Cayman.

Reef Divers is acclaimed for its one-of-kind valet diving service where divers can relax and let the dive team do all the work, providing a carefree, concierge experience. Reef Divers ensures that all guests travel comfortably on their fleet of spacious 42’ and 46’ custom Newton boats. Before each excursion, the experienced Reef Divers team carefully carries the divers’ gear onto the boats and prepares it for the dive. Once on board, the dive staff provides additional convenience by changing the divers’ tanks after every single dive. At Cobalt Coast Resort and Suites, divers can also experience unlimited world-class shore diving mere steps from the front door. All combined, guests will enjoy some of the best diving in the world.

Quietly secluded on Grand Cayman’s northwest shore, yet a short drive from popular Seven Mile Beach, Cobalt Coast Resort and Suites offers luxurious accommodations and outstanding amenities on land to complement the beauty beneath the sea. Guests are graced with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea, a relaxed oceanfront ambiance, easy access to a variety of diving, and a world of island adventure. The warm and friendly staff provides truly personal service for the most comfortable and memorable experience.

Cobalt Coast Resort and Suites now joins the sister islands resorts, Little Cayman Beach Resort and Cayman Brac Beach Resort, as Reef Divers brings its exceptional valet diving service and reputation to Grand Cayman. With this alliance between Reef Divers and Cobalt Coast Resort and Suites, diving enthusiasts and tropical travelers visiting Grand Cayman can experience everything they want, and more, in a single dive-vacation destination.

Which raises the interesting question; for those who historically enjoyed Cobalt Coast (& especially those who returned to it), how much of what they liked was Cobalt Coast, & how much was Dive Tech?

I have never stayed/dived at Cobalt Coast - although they have a very good reputation - but I very much like Reef Divers, the Tibbetts resorts, and Grand Cayman so this is good news for me!

I like Cobalt Coast itself, nice rooms, good food, and I care more about water views and access than having an actual beach anyway. Arie is a great guy and the place was very well run. Divetech was a good op, with the occasional burp like anywhere.

It doesn't have quite the convenience of some places. The shore diving is fine but a long swim to much of anything, and could get blown out relatively easily. We shore dove at Turtle Reef much more when we stayed there. Also, I've stayed there 2 weeks at different times of year, and not once has the dive boat been able to leave from the on-site dock. We always had to get our gear from our locker, put it on the truck, take a van ride to the boat wherever it was, retrieve our gear from the truck, and carry it onto the boat ourselves. This is a thing where valet service would be nice - if my gear just magically showed up on the boat. Whether they will be able to set things up there to do that I don't know.

I've never been too interested in the AI option there. Convenient to eat there for breakfast and maybe lunch, and we'd have the occasional dinner there. But one of the things I always liked about Cobalt Coast is that while it's in a quiet area and not in the zoo of SMB, it's not too far to drive there where there are a ton of restaurants to try. But probably AI would be less expensive than doing that sort of thing.

I will be staying @ Cobalt coast in mid November for 2 weeks and already booked with Divetech hopefully we do not notice an impact since they will be moving out and the new company will be moving in the week after we leave.

Not sure what affect it will have for people in the future but with divetech you could shore dive from Cobalt or from the lighthouse and they would shuttle you between the two since divetech was at both locations. My understanding is that if the water was rough @ Cobalt the lighthouse was typically ok to dive so it seems like that could be a potential downside going forward.

Was there in June/July. I would say it's both. Divetech and the staff are great. Cobalt and their staff are great. Arie the owner of Cobalt is one of the hardest working people I know. There's really nothing bad to say about either. Look forward to going back to the hotel and/or diving with Divetech again.

I havent stayed at Cobalt, but enjoyed diving with DiveTech. Seemed well run, and provided pickup and drop off to SMB.
