I have been shooting UW photos for a few years now. My setup is the Olympus EPL 10 in an AOI housing and two Inon S2000 strobes. I have a Kraken Hydra 1200.
I've used in on a few dives and maybe 300 shots so far. I might be doing something wrong but when it's on and I'm trying to find and focus on the subject in the viewfinder it's pretty much just all red and only the larger dark things in the shot are faintly visible. Is it throwing too much light on the subject area? What can I do differently?

Hi Steeleyes,

I assume you have switched on the red LEDs. Then, of course, everything is red. It is comparable to the red light in the darkroom, that we had in the old film days. Visual orientation is more difficult than with white light, but possible (after getting accoustomed to it). The advantage is that many critters are not able to see the red light and are not disturbed, like they are with white light that chases them away.
I guess the AF of your EPL10 struggles also under the red light, but maybe it works...

Usually if I can point the focus square at the actual subject it focuses fine. Judging where to set my strobes (I shoot them in manual) is a bit difficult
