Hi guys,
I'm from eastern Canada and we don't have anything close to a recreational lobster season there. In fact, if you even think about catching a lobster, an angry fisherman will eat your raw liver. :) (I don't know if that's a joke or not. It's serous stuff especially with the new laws on Native fishing rights.)

Anyway, just curious about how it works south of the border. Do you need a license? How many can you take? Can I get in on the action if I was go on a dive trip in the States? Or would I have to pay an arm and a leg like you guys do when you come up here to hunt moose and bears?

if you try it in Maine the very same fisherman's cousin well also eat you raw liver. That is after you are fined heavily and the state owns your gear.

also illeagal in NH although there are people trying to change it. I will let the mass guys discuss how it is done in mass.

Pete

Short answer, in MA you either need to be a resident or a property owner to get a non-commerical license.

Long answer, do a search of this forum for "lobster license;" it's been discussed in depth before.
