I'm headed to Bali for 5 days this year in May and I wanted to consult the braintrust before I decided on who to go with. Diving will only be two days of my trip as I will be doing some other activities too.

My question is this...
Who do you recommend for a top notch experience and what experience do you have with them?

Hi, I dived with Prass from Air Diving Academy (air@balidiving.com) twice last year & would definitely recommend him. Knowleadgeale local guide who has an eye for macro stuff. Really fun guy to hang out after dive too.

Contact www.baliscuba.com talk to simon or fandy.
I dived with them, fast boat, great captain, experience dm. you can't go wrong with them. they will help you to arrange your accomodation too.

Other need to be considered is where to dive ..for beginner Tulamben and Menjangan is highly recommended.
2 days diving in Bali is too short; if you stay at South Bali (Kuta, Sanur, Nusadua), then you'll waste (not really - since scenic landscape) for traveling; but by staying at the location you can maximize dive time. Some resort has nice house reef.

i can vouch for Pras and all the crew @ Air Diving as well, one of the best dive guides on the island and knows all the spots, conditions, etc, like the back of his hand...

Hey, thanks for all the info! this really helps. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

We have booked a 7 day dive safari with Aquamarine Divers in Kuta for the end of April. Don't know what they are like, but from my emails with them, they appear to be pretty responsive. They are apparently the only British dive operator in Bali and they have quite an informative website. www.aquamarinedivers.com . Their rates also seem quite reasonable.
