I have recently reread Beating the Bends by Brylske. I have to remove it from my recommendation. It's not that it's not a great book but the material is covered in Diving Science and The Complete Diver: The History, Science and Practice of Scuba Diving. If you read those two, there is no need for reading Beating the Bends, and those two books have a lot more information about the bends and other topics.

I just finished the UHMS 2008 Deep Stop Workshop proceedings. It's really good. The discussion sections after each presented paper are simply great.

The DAN 2008 Tech Diving Conference videos on the DAN website are also fantastic.

I agree with many that have been mentioned but I'll stick to new names

I'm enjoying
Scuba Confidential by Simon Pridmore

The next book I wanna buy is
Sea Salt: Memories & Essays by Stan Waterman

Also enjoyed
Under Water to get Out of The Rain: A Love Affair with the Sea
Off the Wall - Dive Tales
The First 130 Feet
and both Scuba Stories books compiled by DIVE Magazine
