Hi Taiwan Divers !
I live in Cebu - Phils and I'm diving on a weekly base here. I will be in Danshui for a couple of weeks June and was wondering if there is any good stop to dive in Northern Taiwan ? Can anybody give me some info, or is anyone available to dive with me when I am there ? Also Green Island seems to be a good spot to dive in Taiwan, anyone can give me info on where to stay and where to dive ? I have my own gears, and I am certified Advance-open water - nitrox.

Welcome to our quiet little corner of SB. I'll speak for the rest of us by welcoming you for your stay in TW.

Your questions regarding Northern diving and Green Island are misplaced (this thread deals with Kenting, our southernmost and singular "beach town").

You cannot dive in Danshui. Closest you're looking at up here is Longdong area. Check the threads dealing specifically with NE diving.

I would be more than willing to buddy-up with you on the weekends, unfortunately my work prevents me from diving midweek. There are also a number of other active expats who would likely join you, most often they dive from Pioneer at Longdong. Another option for you is to contact the shop midweek to arrange a guide of the standard Longdong sites. I will send you pm with my contact info.

Green Island OR Kenting would be good options for you if you have the time. Diving comparable to what you are seeing down in Cebu I guess (just less fish, Taiwanese fisheries have been very successful). There are many good threads here concerning southern diving, and many fine expat and local divers who can advise you better than I.
