I ended up too close to a bullshark feeding frenzy. The recreational dive trip had one hack spearfisher. He wounded a grouper (I didn't know that until I was back on the boat) and the sharks appeared from out of nowhere. I switched to OC to get out of that spot. Exciting, but I don't want to do that again.

I don't know whether "awesome" can describe your experience, but that's a wonderful story. Look on the bright side - what you saw in real life people typically watch on the Discovery Channel. You had a truly marvelous and unforgettable experience.

I was using my gopro as a deflector so I did get some great photos. Mixing spearfishers and non spearfishers on the same recreational trip is a suboptimal idea in my opinion.
