I arrived in Cozumel today, staying at Hotel Cozumel, and I rented a tank to do a shore dive to test my new BPW and also do a weight check. I guess I have put on some blubber because I started at 8 lbs and struggled to stay down. 10 lbs did the trick, this was with an AL80. I did not bring my flashlight, Gopro or SMB with me though. I have some tweaking to do with the harness but first impressions are very good, I don't think the wing size will be an issue

Thanks for the initial follow-up! I hope you will add a post about how diving with the 120 went, with your 20 lb wing.

The wing worked great with the 120's. I was wearing a 2.5 mm wetsuit, no lead and it was perfect. Went to a max depth of 114'. Surfaced to some choppy conditions and I had no issues.

Did you remove your gear in water to board? I am curious how well the wing supported your kit without the buoyancy of the wetsuit.

I did on a couple dives in Playa but those were with AL 80's. I did have 10 lbs of lead on the tank straps though.

I did wonder about that. I love my 18 wing on al tanks but even my Oxycheq 30 wing (though probably only a 26 or so given the slim profile) seems to strain the seams to keep my plate and steel 100 afloat. If I add in a pony...

Just another thought that you may or may not care anything about. As I understand your current configuration you have no ditchable weights. If anything goes south at the beginning of the dive you’re going to need enough wing to keep you and your now full 120s floating, head high, until help arrives.
