Reasonable settlement?

I know payouts in Europe and the UK aren't the same as in the US. However, doesn't the amount of £6000 seem a little low for a fatality? I would hope other payouts were made to the family

This seems like it was just the fine by the health and safety I don't know how the Law suit that follows will go over in the Uk. In the U.S. Id bet it would be big dollars.

This is Criminal - government fines you... Civil suit comes later if culpability was discovered. Since it was, the expectation of punitive damages for the family could be quite steep.
