I don't see what he's saying as having so much to do with credibility as it does with context.

I see it differently.

Consider the purpose of this forum ... and ask yourself if it's worth getting all worked up about.

I also see this differently.

Determining that someone has no regard for truth does not meet any definition of "all worked up" that I am familiar with.

I tend to agree that many of these topics should be taken less seriously than some are taking them ...

That is true enough.

However, the topic was deemed important enough to generate _this_ thread, which raises some interesting questions if it is considered not important.
