Hi,
Wondering if there is a dive spot in Oahu that you can consistently see sting rays or eagle rays?

I have heard there are eagle rays at Electric Beach, but I still have yet to see a ray in Oahu.

Thanks!

There is always Eagle Rays off the Mahi.

I once saw a baby string ray off E-Beach.

as for Stingrays..
you actually have to concentrate your search toward the sand..
often near the base of wall..
(as opposed to a diver's normal focus.. which is on the reefs)

sightings from both shore and deep ocean dives..
seen large Stingrays next to the wall at Sharks Cove and Haleiwa Trench..
and several table-sized Rays by the Corsair, LCU West, and Ewa Pinnacles.

and a video..

look for the eyes :eyebrow:

Eagle rays are pretty common - just keep diving and you'll see one. Electric Beach is pretty good.

Stingrays are usually hard to find, since they live in boring sandy areas far from the reef, and often in pretty deep water. One clue to their presence is big circular pits in the sand - these are dug out by rays looking for food.

the Mahi shipwreck is 1.5 miles south-west of Waianae Boat Harbor on the West Coast of Oahu.

OC goes there all the time.. check with them..

and agreed.. it's the most consistent location to spot Eagle Rays..
(get it.. spot! :eyebrow:)
btw.. here's my shot of 26 Eagle Rays from last year..

VBlueV: Awesome shot and video! Thanks for sharing. Is there a better time of day to dive and see them? Thanks for the OC link, I'll check it out...
