Most of the masks have little plastic "fingers" inside the mask aligned to the outside of the nostrils. You can simply push on outside of the mask to aid equalization on the way down.
 
why's this in the rebreather section?
Depends on the FFm, but they all have some sort of nose block type thing where you shove the mask up and in and you can equalize that way. You have to do it really early and often because you can't equalize with the same force that you can otherwise
