About how long do you guys expect it'll take for the vis to get back to normal?

(oh and thanks for the link to "tidesonline" I hadn't seen that before)

It will depend on how much more run-off we get, when the strongest tide arrives (full moon or new moon?) and also the currents. For the last two days we have had a Kona wind (from the south, not the prevailing trade winds). This, too, causes viz on the south side to be effected. in other words, no telling! We have never seen conditions like this. I am guessing in a few weeks there is a chance we could be back to normal, if the rain stops. I have not seen it happen here, but in warmer places, sometimes you see a big "bloom" in the water after this much run-off, when the sun comes out, etc. (I thought it was due to the fertilizer effect of soaps in run-off.) Anyone feel free to correct me if I have this wrong.... I am very curious to see what is going to happen with the sewage spills + sunshine added.
Your best shot is going to be to find a boat that will take you offshore far enough. I know some guys with a boat and they did Kahala barge last night and they said it was 70 ft or so.
