R.I.P. Matt Caldwell - Slain in Manila

Very saddened to hear that Matt Caldwell, ANDI I.T. and owner of Anilao Beach Club, was murdered in cold-blood in Las Pinas, Alabang, Manila last night.

Local media are reporting that he was shot in the face by a shot-gun armed security guard, as he tried to enter a private sub-division after attending a diving community meeting.

In addition to running an excellent resort and highly professional diving courses, Matt was involved in the deep-water search and recovery operation for Philippines senator Robredo last year, and volunteered as a member of the Philippines Coast Guard, where he freely contributed his technical diving expertise for rescue and recovery operations throughout the country.
