Quick Cebu Questions!!

I'm heading to Cebu tonight! Just for the weekend, and have a few quick questions for the PPDers.. If anyone can help that would be awesome...

I'm staying in the Tambuli resort on Mactan, just for Saturday & Sunday night - travelling with 2 non diving friends who will want to party alot.. so I'm gonna try squeeze in a couple dives, just go with the flow and see what I can do... Hopefully I can dive Hilutungan and see the Jacks feeding, or find out about Tinggo Island (I remember seeing a post mentioning Threshers there - if it's true that would be bad@$$)

I just need to know a few things -

1) Is it OK to pay in pesos? I remember from my last trip to Bohol, all prices were listed in US$'s, I'm assuming it should be OK tho right?

2) Has anyone got any idea of where the Tambuli is? If so - are there any reccomendations for dive shops who I should use (cheaper = better I really wish I had a cheaper passion hahaha)?

3) What's the nightlife like around Tambuli/Mactan? Any reccomendations for bars/clubs? - We are 3 guys going, in our 20's, looking for cool places - not just Burgos Street style bars....

the thresher sharks are located in malapascua. by the way i am in cebu all of the time and i can say that the nightlife in cebu city is awesome. problem is you are located in mactan which is about 30 mins away. mactan is ok but nothing compared to the bars of cebu city. take a cab it will be worth it.

Malapascua I'm hoping to visit later in the year if I can save up enough cash - the place looks awesome - I just recall one post a few weeks ago a guy was saying they've been spotting Threshers at this place Tinggo, I was just wondering if it was a real claim or not..

Yeah I think we will have to get into Cebu City, I've heard it's good - have you got any reccomendations of places we definatly should get to?

You're probably in Cebu by now. In Tambuli, they have their own dive shop and if I can remember the price is pretty decent - $40 for 2 dives (equipment not included). Another dive shop I would recommend is Liquid Assets owned and operated by Booboy Mancao.

Nightlife in Mactan. Hmmm, cant help you there, didnt know they had one For this, best to go to Cebu and depends what you have in mind, either the trendiest spot or the seediest

my freind owns a club/bar called vudu. its near the waterfront hotel. its along a strip of bars. magnet for beautiful cebuana women. check it out.

I've just got back to work, sorting out all my last minute things before flying tonight, your comments have been a real big help... I'm not sure which end of the spectrum of bars we will be going to, I don't think the trendiest places are what we want, nor the sleaziest - I think we will head out and find a nice chilled place to sink a few beers or Tanduay cokes, and see where we end up.. will check out vudu, sounds cool..

If the Tambuli has their own dive shop it makes sense to use them, easy and convenient, can't wait to get under and blow some bubbles again, hopefully catch the jacks feeding at Hilutungan..

Any more tips ideas from people on here?? Any restaurants or other bars/clubs that are worth checking out?

tambuli has an outsourced dive shop so no worries. as for bars, Vudu is in a complex of restos and bars. you find vudu your good to go. follow the cookie trail youl be fine
