I bought my chute III 2 months ago and I love it!!! The retractor goes into the little pocket as described in previous posts, but it was useless to me since the cable end is just a key-ring and not something easily clipped onto my computer. I was at a lds in Yuba City, Ca. and found a replacement end made by cetacea with a female clip. So now I have a female end on the retractor and a cetacea male/lanyard looped into the computer and I can easily clip them even while wearing my gloves.

I got the std 45 lb lift bladder on my chute, but I heard there is a 60 lb lift version. Is there any reason to upgrade? I use 32 lbs. in Monterey with my 7mm suit. Is the 60lb bladder for divers with extra equipment to lift like game/guns?

I am 6'3" and weigh 210lbs, I wear a Large and I have the cummerbund as short as it will go in back and it still overlaps quite a bit in front.....maybe I need to work on a beer belly!!!!

BTW - I was reading the manual and it mentions to be careful with the deflator, that you must release the button before all the air is out or you will let water in the BC. Then it says the best way to deflate is by pulling the inflator hose to activate the shoulder valve. I was surprised because I always thought of the shoulder valve as an emergency release. The last 6 dives I have been using the shoulder valve and haven't had any water in the bladder until yesterday I had a few teaspoons to drain out this morning. I just switched to the optional airsource so I don't know if this is why I had some water in there this time. I did notice there is a ball molded into the hose of the airsource/inflator.....well this ball hits one of the metal D-rings on the left breast when you try to pull and prevents the hose from moving......I had to pull the hose up and forward to deflate air from the BC.

I love the chute and I think it is a very well made product.

Brian- Your 45lb bladder is more than enough. I'm 6' 220lbs and use a 7mm fullsuit also. I only use about 18lbs of lead, but the lift should be more than enough for you with 32lbs.

I almost never touch my deflator button, and use the pull dump for the same reason. I rinse my bladder just to be safe, but get no noticeable amount of water in it ever.

I don't like the alternate air source, so don't have one. That might very well be the reason that you're starting to get some water in the bladder.

Enjoy your BC
