Hi everyone,
I found this site today and am looking for anyone that has been diving with Blackbeards out of south Florida. I have read some of the comments about them and it sounds like a great outfit, but I was concerned about it becoming too much of a "party" atmosphere. Does anyone have any comments. I am looking at booking a cruise with them in October, but not interested in a booze cruise.

Thanks

My week was not a party cruise, everyone was laid back and respectful. (and I unwittingly went on a single's week!) :11: They did have a ton of beer and rum on board, but everyone was respectful of everyone else. Of course, that probably totally depends on the other passengers!

Thanks SueMermaid, for the quick response. I think I am going to enjoy this website.

After 4 or 5 dives a day, and on a 60' X 15' boat everyone went to sleep. Except in Bimini, at the End of the World Bar. There we partied! ;)

I have done a cruise with Blackbeards. As with any diving trip, I think you can party as much as you want. However, the rules we dove by said that when you started drinking, your dive day was done. As the only diver on the trip who did every single possible dive, I missed the most of the festivities.
But choosing between, the Beach party, and being sober, and ready for the morning dives, was my choice. There was unlimited free beer, wine, and rum. The diving was my main thing. There were even a few non divers on the trip. It was interesting meeting new people, and I highly reccomend Blackbeards

Welcome to the board!

Had a great dive trip on Blackbeards this Spring. Diving was excellent, food was very good, companions were alot of fun, accomodations were adequate.

The crossings can be a little rough on the stomach if you have sea-sickness problems--but those who used meds had no real trouble.

Happy diving,
