I think the car earlier referred to as an LTD is a Ford Thunderbird, circa 1978 model. There's a Chevy S-10 pickup and a late 70's model Chevy full-size (the one with the snorkle). Dont' forget the VW bus. All of the cars in the quarry seem to be from around the late 70's. The S-10 is possibly the newest vehicle.

We'll try to confirm the make, model, and possibly year this weekend.

I checked them out when I was in today. The truck that is west of the plane is a chevy. I found a logo on the steering wheel. I have no idea as to what model or year it is.

At the car I found no identifying marks. I'm not enough of a car buff to know from looking at it. Sorry I'm no help there.

The only one I found was the S10. The visibility was so bad on Sunday I couldn't even find the other cars let alone identify them :(

One of them is a 67-72 Chevy or GMC. I can't remember which but it is that era.

Just got back from Myrtle Beach; thanks for investigating the vehicles. If I name them incorrectly in the program, I can now blame all of you:eyebrow: If anyone gets an "I know for sure" indentification, PM me please. Thanks again.

Update on vehicle identification:

I can't help much, but have confirmed that the yellow truck is a GMC. The plate on the inside of the driver's side door is too corroded to make out much.

The large car at 20 foot just off the tail of the airplane is a 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis. (http://www.mercuryarchive.com/1973to1978/1978MercuryGrandMarquis2DrTuTone.jpg) The build date is indicated on the plaque inside the drivers door. I had to scrub the muck off the trunk lid to find "MERCURY" spelled out in block letters.

We didn't make it to any of the other vehicles.

When did U do this? I don't recall seeing you looking at data plates...

I picked up the ID on the GMC while returning from the Tubes. I checked out the Mercury on the last dive on the way back around through the Sticks. You and "85MPH" had already started back towards the dock.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a slate with me to take down more info. I wish we had made it to the S-10...I might check out the numbers on it next time and snap some pics. I'd like to get the VIN and have it run through the DMV, but the windshields are so mucked up and damaged, it's unlikely they're legible.
