I'll be heading to Saba for a couple of weeks at the end of April this year and have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer for me.

I've trying to choose a place to stay and have narrowed it down to either Juliana's or Scout's Place. I was curious about pools as my wife doesn't dive and she likes to have at least a pool to sit by, it doesn't take much to make her happy! I've looked at the web sites but it's always best to ask someone who has actually been there. Do both of these places have a good pool or is one better then the other. Juliana's pool looks like it's at the Cafe? We would like an Ocean view room so would anyone recommend a specific room at either of these places or are they all pretty good? What are the restuarants like at these two places, more concerned with breakfast then lunch or dinner as I understand there are some other good restaurants for these.

What's the social life like at these two places, is one a little more lively then the other? Juliana's has a divers buffet and a movie night but Scout's looks like it has different things going on every night, we're not expecting anything big, crowded and noisy, just curious?

I'll probably use the dive shop that the hotel recommends as I have not been here before so I really don't know if one is better then the other and I think there are only three on the Island so there isn't a lot of choice anyway, unless someone has a reason to use one shop over the other?

Anything else you think will help us decide or anything we need to know would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Dive with Saba Deep. They are the best. Both Julianna's and Scout's are Ok to stay at. We prefer Cottage Club though. As long as you are within walking distance to town, all will be fine. When you are diving, you will probably not be able to get back up the hill for lunch. Saba Deep has a small restaurant above the dive shop. Great for breakfast and lunch. Also Saba Deep can work with you on securing your accommodations. Have fun. Saba is a wonderful place to dive.

My husband and I went to Saba in Feb, stayed at Juliana's and dove with Sea Saba - we can highly recommend both. We stayed in the Orchid Cottage, and we got a chance to look at the other cottage at Juliana's, as well. Both are very nice. Juliana's pool is right next to the cafe. I thought Sea Saba was a great operation.

I loved Juliana's so much that I hate to say this...but if your wife is into a more resort-y feel, you may wish to look into Queen's Gardens - we hung out at the pool with friends staying there our last day, and it was lovely.

Thanks!
