I've been around here long enough to know better than to post my stupid ideas.

I suppose I could start a thread called "Recreational CCR builders, let's see your rig"
I've traveled down this path.

Once I asked this forum about manifolding something smaller than 40s or 50s on a rig and I got torn up top to bottom. Less than a year later gue announces that they are introducing a entry-level platform with manifolded 3 l.

I've done my share of modification and custom building. I'm with it but many are risk-averse and choose not to accept ideas that are not built-in packaged turnkey.

And that is sad. There is plenty of tribal knowledge kept in secret because scuba police likes working overtime. As a result, you have to find things out on your own or speak with trusted parties in private, a-la fight club.

I have an FX-CCR which has the iqsub oxy mav. Recently I had a situation where my steel sidemounted tank pushed the button and injected a non-healthy dose of oxygen at 30ish meters in a cave. I heard the noise and flushed it quick but startled me as i'm new to CCR.
Just a thought to consider. Maybe recessed button would be safer.

True my tank was out of trim, but i was maneuvering around and was busy fiddling with a line repair so i pushed the tank down somehow.

Hope it helps in your assessment.
