I'm planning a possible dive trip to the Baha area of Mexico in the fall and have a few questions I'm hoping that some of you who are more knowledgeable than I am about the area can help me with.

1) For the sea lions dive from La Paz, is there a particular best season or is it all year round?

2) What is the best way to get to La Paz from the Cabo area? Shuttle? Rent car?

3) Best area to possibly see whale sharks and what is the season for them there?

Thanks

Hey Clint,
Sea lions live year round at the colonies here in La Paz. You can visit one of the two main colonies at any time of the year and dive with the sea lions. Whale shark season is usually from September through to April but this year it has gone on a lot longer, there are still a lot of whale sharks right now. You will tend to see a lot of juveniles in the fall and later on in the year the bigger juveniles and young adults are here in the bay. There is one area where the whale sharks congregate, known as El Mogote, a short boat ride from downtown.
There are 2 different bus companies and a ton of rental car companies. Pm me and I can give you some links.

I would also recommend a day trip to Cabo Pulmo if you can arrange it. You may be lucky to dive with bull sharks or tiger sharks, if they are in season. Beautiful area and very rustic. I loved the diving there.

Trevor, the names of those two bus companies would be awesome!
