I DM Bottom Scratcher from time to time. More often then not. I'm standing lonely on the back of the boat waiting for people to work their way back. The layout is sort of a pain, but I always tell people to head back as soon as they get their gear on. Seems like everyone is always waiting on someone else.

I bet it gets lonely back there! Sometimes you can squeeze by the people that are gearing up along the bunks, but its sometimes easier to just wait till you can get by safely.

The crew is very nice. Anyone else think the deck hand is a Will Ferrel look-a-like?

Codyjp:
Captian Greg almost always goes to 3 different sites. If he can get an ageement from the group he will sometimes stay at the same spot for 2 dives.
That's a good thing?

Codyjp:
Is this not a good thing? I prefer to dive new spots.
SoCalMike:
Just wondering why it would be a bda thing? Maybe explain a little more? Thanks.
I was referring to this: "sometimes stay at the same spot for 2 dives".

Going on three dives is great. Going on 3 dives, but only in two locations, seems, well, less great, from where's I'm sitting. I prefer a new location for each dive, unless a certain dive was so spectacularly amazing that I just have to go back down again and dive the same site (rare).

That makes perfect sense. It seemed like 85% of the boat were classes, so for the instructors, it works for them. As for me, I guess I really dont mind. Catalina doesnt have too much to offer in terms of variety, and being under water is better than above!

I was on the BottomScratcher for the first time on ChamberDay. I was suiting up getting ready to hop in when I heard the bagpipes. I spun around to see what the noise was, sat there stuned for a few seconds and said "at least he's not wearing a kilt up there...." It was a pretty nice boat, the crew were nice (unless you showed up in doubles!)

Lee, was that you sitting in the galley talking with ice about GUE class? If so it was nice meeting you. If it wasn't you, Im sure we met on the boat and it was still nice meeting you!
