Is there any diving in Wyoming?

I have never been to the state, and have recently been offered a job to go there. It's not a state I would have probably initially thought to look for something, but the opportunity has presented itself. I am from the MI area, but due to poor economic conditions, I am considering leaving.

I realize the overally topography of the state, but wondered if there were any place to go diving that was in the Rawlins area of the state or anywhere for that matter.

I would appreciate any info.

I'd say Flaming Gorge or maybe Glendo. Not sure the viz in glendo is all that great.

Besides Flaming Gorge, you could dive some lakes north towards Casper. I know people dive Alcova which would be about 2 hour drive from Rawlins, if my memory is correct. There are lakes on this same river system closer to Rawlins but you would need to check with a L.D.S. in Casper for suggestions. Good Luck!

They can tell you where to go diving. I know in the past they did trips to the Fire Hole River and Yellowstone Lake among other places. They were my 'local' dive shop back in the '80s when I lived in Idaho.
