Could somebody please tell me what would be a safe time frame for leaving air in your tank in readiness for the next dive. I'm aware that you should not store a full tank, but my last planned dive was cancelled and I would like to know how long you would leave the air in the tank or if you would bleed the tank and just fill it before the next dive.

Cheers

I won't worry about it. Maybe bleed down the tank so it is to close to the service pressure.

I have left HP tank (3500psi) at 3000psi all winter and it hasn't ever had a problem.

The air should be fine for the year or so between Vip's as long as the tank was vip'd and does not have any serious rust or corrosion going on.

There are cave exploration teams that leave safety bottles in caves for months and months.
