Hi,

I bought today my first dive coomputer, a scubapro Chromis.
Playing around with it and trying to change the settings I noticed that the selection/esc button (left side, bottem button) only works when you at the same time press with a wet finger at the sensor at the right side of the computer. Is this normal and a safety thing? Or is it an error?
Does anybody know?

Thanks!
Kind Regards,
PJ

I use my Chromis as my backup computer and travel watch. This is not how mine operates. I have never needed to have a wet finger to set anything on it. Read you manual (can be downloaded from Scubapro) Section 4, page 19, Using Chromis as a Dive Computer.

If you still have problems, go to your local dive shop and ask for help.

I also have a Chromis and have never had to operate it in such a manner.

I would be taking it back to the place of purchase for them to have a look

Good luck

Nath

Not normal. I have the Meridian (previous gen, otherwise similar). The pressure sensor will activate scuba mode, and you can switch it off if you want to, but all the buttons should work regardless.

You can also contact Scubapro. They may chose to replace it. You have to send it back through a dive shop that deals with them. They do not accept returns from an individual.
