Question on BC hoses

See attached a photo of a WaterLung Sub-Jac 360 BC. This BC has a regular shoulder mounted hose on the left front shoulder, but it also has two hoses on the back (see attached photo). How does this work? This is the first time that I have ever seen something like this.

What do the two bottom hoses end in? Do they end in power inflators? It almost looks like the connect from the back bladder to chest bladders.

That's a pretty old critter, probably (guessing) early '70s.
Guessing again I'd say that the bottom hoses were to allow equilization/migration of your bubble.

Waterlung made one of the all-time best backpacks ever, a stamped aluminum thing. If it fit any better you wouldn't need straps, it'd stay on by suction alone.

This BC is something that was on ebay. It just had a one sentence description and the two photos that were posted. I noticed the two hoses coming off the back and thought that it was really strange. A couple of dump valves with pull cords would make sense, but I can't understand the logic of attaching hoses to them. Calling the BC a "360" seems to indicate that it will operate in any direction and I guess that the hoses are somehow a part of that.

I went ahead and bought it. It was only $15 (+ $12.50 s/h) and it looks way cool. It's the only BC like this that I have ever seen and it will be fun to see how it works. I'll post a couple of more photos after it arrives.

Now I'll have a Sportsways WaterLung BC to match my nice breathing WaterLung regulator (see attached).

I got my '60 Healthways reg today! I cleaned it up today - looks nice. Now I have to open it up. It has AquaLung curved mouthpiece on it and good hoses as well!

With the Sub-Pac 360 BC, I think that ZenSquirrel was correct when she said "It almost looks like they connect from the back bladder to chest bladders."

The hoses probably connect the back and front bladders allowing the air to flow as the diver rolls from side to side. This is what a Scubapro stab jacket does. Scubapro probably had a patent on their design so WaterLung had to come up with something that would accomplish the same thing but be different enough so as not to be called a copy.
