I have a set of bands that have an extra "hump" anyone know what it's for?

Jersey upline or a small deco bottle?

Only guesses...

Roak

This band is for the rec BCD, such as ScubaPro Classic Plus and Knighthawk... The back side of the BCD used to be rounded so it requires some roop designed band. I have used it for the double on SP BCDs before moving to the tech gear.

It uses the same bolt and nuts through two holes on the backpack of BCD.

OK thanks, that answered the question.

They date back farther than that. It was probably originally attached to a hardpack (like the one in my avtar) as used with a horse collar BC or no BC at all.

They were commonly used with small doubled steel 45's and steel 72's sold by Healthways, US Divers, etc.

I actaully had a hardpack and a horsecollar, never dove them though (Kept the Conshelf though). But it do have to try out a Mistral one of these days....
