hmmm. got a good one...
tsa at newark international...
on a trip to ginnie springs, we got stopped at the x-ray,
no explanation, just a hold on sir and lots of walkie talkie talk
while my bro's pelican case is under the screen...
you'll have to wait sir, wait for what... (a little explanation would be nice)
half hour at least for the port authority police to show up...
and another 15 min for them to do a physical inspection,
then a ok you can go now.
so i ask the officer what's going on?, it is very apparent that the tsa people
(at least 5 by now) don't know their a$$ from their elbow, and he says they
thought there was an uzi in there. a what? an uzi, sir.
what is in there? you have to wonder...
its a sea and sea camera, strobe, tray and two lenses.
you have got to be kidding me. an uzi is a hell of a lot bigger and heavier.
(i had one under my desk at my first job in brooklyn - bad neighborhood)
anyway, we were kinda ticked off but walked it off cause this was shortly after
9/11 and everyone had itchy fingers.
i probably would have forgotten about it by now if we didnt miss the plane
by 5 minutes. a simple 2.5 hour flight to fla, turned into a 14 hour fiasco.
i never jumped a border, but i did jump a train turnstile once in east germany
to get back to berlin.
next person, same question...
