Well, probly, but I think if I found something of value I would leave it were it is at before attempting to remove it. It would be my luck to surface wqith the police right there. (they don't follow me like they used to, but you just can't tell anymore)

Any local interesting dive sites?

It's mostly lakes and quarries here, and as with most "smaller bodies of water", the fun factor is kinda limited ... though I never get tired of being in the water. The vis is about average, depending on the number of divers in the water, and the water temp itself.

How about up there? Do you dive much in the saltwater, or look towards the fresh water spots?

I am near Syracuse.(300-350 miles west of NYC) Fresh Water is my main stay. The Finger Lakes and Lake Ontario is where I do most of my diving. I only have 1 salt water dive to date, and that was in an aquarium with Calif. Sealions. I will be travelling to Fla. in Feb and I am planning dives around the Keys and in Ft. Lauderdale.

Ever consider buying a boat?

Oh yeah! If I had gotten an older model and trailer for free (they couldn't get rid of it), I was going to fix it back up as a dive boat. This upcoming year, i'll get a two man, inflatible, DiveYak, so me and my son can do some kayaking (and snorkling) up the rivers of northern Fla. If I did have a boat, i'd probably live on the water.

In Ft. Lauderdale, are you planning to do shore dives, or boat dives?

Yes, I am going with a group, planning party this Sunday.

How often do you take a big vacation?

It's been quite sometime since i've taken one, but starting this (er, last), it'll be once a year (a big trip), with lots of little trips all during the summer and fall; mostly diving trips and excursions. I've heard that Ft. L has some very nice shore diving.

This will be my very 1st "BIG" vaction, 10 days away form home. I tend to do short local trips 3-5 days within 300-400 miles from home.

What is your favorite "quicky" vacation?

Do you Camp out?

Yes. I just retired my 18year old cabin tent this year ... all the stitching started coming apart, finally. I'm either going with a two room,or three room cabin with either a 12x14 or 14x16 floor. I have a smaller dome tent, but I like having something a bit more roomy for the gear and coolers. One day, i'll get me a real camper!


How about you? When you go on dive-cations, do you camp on site, or rent a motel close by?
