Thinking about posting a thread about Costeau and conservation. As in where would our knowledge, public awareness, and understanding of the seas condition, without his lifetime of dedication and invention of SCUBA?

Regarding a direct answer to your question... I think that the Cousteaus have made an awesome living selling "Oh my God, we're destroying the Earth" scenarios. :)

Wouldn't you tell people that every time they asked if you were making money going around the world and scuba diving?
