At first until I moved the cam strap way down, it was riding behind my shoulder. I might try a slightly longer bungee. I just got a side mount butt plate. have not had it in the water yet. May make the difference, since I now have a rail, instead of a side d-ring.

This doesn't make sense. The cam strap on the tank should be positioned so it is in line with where you clip it. If on a waist d-ring then in line with the waist strap. If on a butt plate, then in line with the rail. With AL80s you shouldn't need a butt plate. They are light enough to not require that. You want the valve and 1st stage snugged in your armpit.

Take a look at the photos on this page for proper positioning of cylinders. Scroll down for the AL80 photos but even the steel photos show you proper positioning.

I got the picture that the tank "felt" like it was behind the shoulder but probably was in perfect position to start with. I find that I need to push the tanks forward to get to the valves which I like that because i know that the vales are tucked.

Until a few weeks ago I was using a double D-ring woven into the butt area of my crotch strap. The rings were left & right of the crotch strap. I just got the sidemount butt plate & haven't used it yet. The butt plate may make some difference.

I think I may have come up with a solution to getting the weights up higher without using the weight pockets in the OTS counterlungs (interferes with ADV operation). I found a space on each side on the shoulders where I can attach weight pockets on either side of the counterlung yoke. I am going to plan to temporarily attach the pockets using cable ties & one of the yoke eyelets to hold them basically in place until I can determine if this will help or hinder. I am hoping to get it into the pool & open water in a few weeks (if the weather will ever try to warm up).
