How similar is the G200B to the older-style G250? Does it have a metal barrel? I've read that the only real difference is the lack of adjustment knob. If so, would it be possible to add the adjustment knob to make is a virtual G250?

Thanks!

Yes, the G200s have a metal barrel (part #11.200.102) that is different than the old G250 metal barrel (part # 11.250.102). But it might be a problem finding the metal G250 barrel (and adjustment knob) to make the conversion.

I am not sure if SP still stocks the G250 metal airbarrel or if the G250V air barrel would work either.

Have you seen a part # on the case for the G250V? If it is the same as the G250, I would expect the air barrel would transfer.

Yes, that was my next question! Would a G250V barrel work?

Thanks!

The G250 and G200/B will peform identically; I dont see the reason to bother. The adjustment knob often gets bent when droped and most divers rarely use it. The G200b is also lighter not a big deal but it is. I would buy a used G250 or get the new G250v if you are so bothered and just need the knob. I am pretty sure that the Knob and air barrel are still available if you wish to upgrade but what a waste for the G200/b air barrel.

I agree. My daughter got a G200 a few years back with an MK10. I'd never seen a G200 before but it's a smooth as the G250s I've used (3 different ones) I've heard the S555 is the 650 with no adjustment? I want one.
