Question about NC Diving

I am somewhat new to diving (Certified in Oct. '02) and have only been to tropical destinations (Key Largo, Cozumel, WPB, etc). What is the temperature and vis usually like on the Carolina Coast? What are the best times of the year to go?

thats easy usually most divers go off the coast from late may to sept conditions well it variese some times as much 100 feet vis some time as much as 20 feet vis temps right now are around 78 -82

Just 'ware the hurricane season as the waves get a bit choppy! We went out last year in August and almost had to abort due to waves. I got sick and I can usually resist it pretty well. Once in the water, it was nice, but there was a 3 knot current.
