DSS has a lot of fanboy and girls on SB, so it is hard to get an unbiased opinion. I have wings from DSS, Oxycheq, Halcyon, Hollis, Apeks, and Zeagle. If I inflate them all the DSS will loose the air more far quickly than the others. The DSS wings also have some fraying of the threads on the seams. The other wings do not have this problem. So in my opinion the DSS wings are not any better build that the competition. However, I do like the shape of the wing and the attachment of the wing to the plate is very innovative. The material is flexible making it easy to pack.
As far as the plate goes, the steel plate is innovative with the ability to add a glide adapter, weight plates, and make adjustments without having to play with tri-glides. The plate is not finished as nicely as a Halcyon or Apeks plate, but that is just cosmetics. As far as the Kydex plate goes, it is nice but cannot take the glide adapter or weight plates which is a disadvantage in my eyes. Why DSS does not replicate the steel plate in an aluminum model is beyond me.
In my opinion, the Oxycheq is the best constructed wing. I have the regular model not the extreme.
