I'm a certified first responder, AED, CPR, Medic Diver, so my question is, do any of the certifying agencies convert these shore certifications to the administering of O2?

The DAN O2 course recommends CPR as a prerequisite and provides an optional exercise to incorporate use of AED with oxygen administration. I am not familiar with Medic Diver. I do not know of any agency that converts completion of one type of training into another. I’ve had nurses and EMTs as students in my basic DAN Oxygen First Aid courses.

Based on your prior training, and since most courses of this type recommend retraining every couple of years, you might find one of DAN’s newer courses interesting.

The Basic Life Support for Dive Professionals course does not require you to be a dive professional, and includes CPR, AED, choking management, bag valve masks, cricoid pressure, etc.

The Diving Emergency Management Provider course includes AED, First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life, Oxygen First Aid, and an option for manually triggered ventilators.

Bravo for your interest. The more divers around with emergency training, the safer I feel.

The one difference that the DAN O2 class has is the use of a demand valve for the breathing diver, which is not taught in EMT programs...

As well, DAN o2 diver's c-card is what will get you fills of 02, as well DAN, the biggest co that sells them, wont sell it 2 u without that c card. Its all handy information, and i am sure that it will be usefun at some point or another.

I was taught demand valve use in my Paramedic course. The DAN advanced O2 course teaches the use of the new MTV-100. I use the old kind every week at work but DAN wont except that pryer experiance. If you are a medic they will forgoe the AED course if you send a letter signed by your chief ( supierior ).
